Structural Icing

- Clear – water particles accumulate then freeze
- Rime – water particles freeze on contact, opaque
- Mixed – mixture of clear and rime icing
Induction Icing
- Engine air intake icing
- Reduces performance significantly
Instrument Icing
- Pitot tube and/or static port icing
- Causes instrument errors
