  • Includes the airspace within parallel boundary lines 4 NM to each side of the centerline
  • Floor of 1,200’ AGL, unless otherwise specified

Victor Airway

  • 1,200’ AGL - 17,999’ MSL
  • Published on sectional and low en route charts
  • ‘V123’ (N/S odd number, E/W even number)
  • May coincide with other victor airways  ‘V123-246’

RNAV Route

  • Published on both en route low and high charts
  • Depicted in aeronautical blue
  • High altitude  ‘Q123’
  • Low altitude  ‘T123’
  • May be flown under IFR if approved by ATC
  • Can only be approved in a radar environment
  • Navigation is the responsibility of the pilot
  • Direct routes between waypoints –

latitude/longitude coordinates, degree-distance fixes, or offsets from established routes/airways at a specified distance and direction

Jet Route

  • 18,000’ MSL - FL450
  • Published on high altitude en route charts
  • ‘J12’

Military Training Route (MTR)

  • Below 10,000’ MSL
  • Operations in excess of 250 KN
  • ‘IR’ IFR route, ‘VR’ visual route
  • No segment above 1,500’ AGL  ‘IR-1234’
  • Segments above 1,500’ AGL  ‘IR-123’
  • All MTRs above 1,500’ AGL are charted
